07 Dec 2011 - Domino's Pizza

Had an early dinner and since they had some coupons, an order for Domino's was placed online to last the night. Cash was the only payment option. Got an extra large Hawaiian and two Lava Cakes for $30.87.

Was monitoring the GPS, Great Pizza Service tracker, and within 5 minutes, the order was processed. Things followed through smoothing, preparation, baking, packing and the likes. Within 20 minutes, the food had arrived at his doorstep.

Huge pizza box that couldn't go through the half-opened gate.

Complimentary onion rings. A little soggy, but still well-received.

Who has the larger wheel? Pizza versus onion rings for comparison's sake.

Each box of Lava Cake cost $3.80.

Can you see the passion flowing? It was a little salty, the non-dessert person doesn't know if it's supposed to be this way. But the contrast somehow complimented the sweetness of the chocolate filling.

21 May 2011 - Toasted Pizza

Had been eyeing the wraps for quite sometime before swooping in on them on Friday night. Also added crab sticks, bacon, cherry tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, portobello and white button mushrooms to the basket.

Considered between making bacon wrap or pizza, and went with the latter for something crispier, hopefully.

Since he was using a toaster oven, he had to cut the wrap in half so that things would fit. Here's what he did:
1. Set wrapping paper as base in the oven tray.
2. Brush the side of the wrap facing up with some olive oil.
3. Wash and slice the mushrooms, tomatoes and pepper, brush with a mixture of olive oil, ground black pepper and salt.
4. Place the tomatoes and pepper as the first layer on the wrap.
5. Cut the bacon and crab sticks into small pieces and layer them on. He left the bacon on the topmost layer.
6. 1st toasting of 3-4 mins.
7. Check amount of browning before 2nd toasting of 3-4 mins, adjust as required.
8. Top with the mushrooms and sprinkle cheese (he shredded processed cheese slices).
9. Final toasting of another 3-4 mins until cheese has melted, or browned if you'd like.

This was the first half of the wrap where he toasted everything for the same amount of time. The cheese got a little too burnt as you can see in the background. Got the thin, crispy "crust" effect.

The second half, done as per the steps listed above. Mushrooms were less mushy and cheese did not get burnt. The "crust" was equally crispy though.

He used only 1 slice of cheese for each half, perhaps he would try something with more cheese tomorrow. Or maybe he should make bacon wrap tomorrow.

Just to add, it was really interesting to watch the bacon sizzle and crackle through the glass. He had some leftover fillings, and so he wrapped a slice of bacon around 2 crab sticks as filling for a slice of bread. So sinfully delicious without the vegetables.

12 Mar 2011 - Pizza Hut

She bought 2 bags of Doritos, and the coupons on the bags allowed them to redeem one personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut.

Meat Galore - consisted of chicken ham, pepperoni, minced beef and cabanossi sausages as listed on the menu. Crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside as claimed.

Plate of 6 honey wings that cost $4 with the coupons. More salty than the name suggests.

Beef bolognese for her, $8.90. Not enjoyable, you'll see why soon.

The plate felt oily, but hunger and phototaking took their attention away. Only after finishing the food, they found oil stained wipe marks at the plate's edge. Didn't seem like it had been cleaned properly.

On the way home, she had wanted to get some more chips from the supermarket, but he decided that it was unhealthy enough that they had downed 2 big bags in a week.

pizzahut on 23 Jan 2010

gave the cherry blossom pizza a try, $22.50++. citibank cards get 25% off. shaped like a flower and seemed appealing on the overall. the meat floss topping reminded them of her recent dishes. you get pineapples, bbq meat bits, pork floss and a cheese stuffed crusted. each slice actually seemed like a piece of bun that may be purchased from your bakery, nice to eat but perhaps too expensive for him.

seafood vongole - $10.90++ . there was another citibank promo, $12++ for a personal pan pizza and a pasta perfetto. unfortunately, the confused waitress offered them a choice of either seafood or chicken. in the end, her mix up cost them 1 personal pan pizza, wonderful. not.

"completed" the set with lemon tea and cream of mushroom for $3.50++

say cheeze @ 313 somerset

slept in again, so they had to settle for late lunch. headed to cuppage plaza for the 1st level japanese restaurant, but turned out they closed at 2.30pm, and only re-opened at 6pm. too bad, they had to settle for the new malls on the opposite, orchard central and 313.

while in 313, they walked past "say cheeze" and the black angus sirloin looked tempting. got a table for 2, ordered the black angus sirloin (medium well) and a tokyo pizza. she further requested for a doubly sinful milkshake, very very thick and at a cost of $7.90++...

the black angus sirloin steak $18.90++ - insides still looked tender red, but not bloody. this sirloin's a thick chunk, unlike most other sirloins that they've had before. both of them thought that it was good. she commented that the whipped potato tasted different but she liked it anyway. color's a little on the brighter side too.

the tokyo pizza that she wanted ($13.90++). crispy crust, almost like a biscuit. came with teriyaki chicken and those usual flakes of he-forgot-what-you-call-them, very enjoyable.

close up of the tokyo pizza...

service was prompt and friendly, attentively topped up water and cleared the table. would go back again for the steak, and perhaps pizza.
