13 Aug 2011 - Pepper Lunch's curry rice set

Apologies that this came 2 weeks late.

She wanted to have the ribeye steak, while he saw the refreshed menu of curry rice and opted to have the pepper steak variant. (curry rice, pepper steak, huh?)

The curry rice set came with a complimentary egg, and curry in an Aladdin-style lamp. Spicy enough to have him perspire. Also, the portion of rice seemed a little huge. He had to struggle a little to finish it all.

27 Feb 2011 - Pepper Lunch and SourMilk frozen yoghurt

She never liked to eat yoghurt. However, when BigDeal.sg had this "deal" for frozen yoghurt at SourMilk, Far East Plaza, she kept nagging at him to buy. How weird.

Here's what they had, original and chocolate topped with strawberries slices, blueberry mochi, KitKat, water melon, MnM's and probably more. The original flavour was sweet and sour, his type of taste (think mangoes, sour plums). Her choice of chocolate was bitter and sour, quite a weird combination to him at least, so he let her finish it all. The blueberry mochi was the most pleasing of the toppings, sweet and chewy.

Probably an hour before that, she wanted to expend the $5 Pepper Lunch voucher in their possession. The regular Big Rib-eye for her, while he had Seafood Aglio Olio.

Instead of the salad, he opted for some ice cream, black sesame and caramel flavours. She finished hers in double quick time and pretended to ask him about the flavour he was having. Yeah, so he let her tax some from his cup. Hahahaha

05 November 2010 stew day

she bought some groceries the night before, and finished cooking them all the very next day.

unagi fried rice - a little soggy for rice, but the texture was soft enough to be passable as porridge. she remembered added some soy sauce, teriyaki sauce in the mix to achieve this. talk about "feel for cooking"...

stewed eggplant with bean sauce - slightly spicy, soft tender flesh. he prefers this to steamed ones that has texture like sponge.

later in the day, they went out shopping where she bought her lancome mascara, some tee shirts for him, and then ushered themselves into Pepper Lunch. they were having a promotion for some combos, and they opted for the rib-eye and beef stew set.

you've seen enough of the sizzling rib-eye before, now for an eyeful of the beef stew. (actually, the stomach had taken over the mind, and by the time he had realised, it was all too late...)

the last time he had this stew was dinner buffet at Hotel Rendezvous. loves how the meat falls apart, with some soft chewy tendons in between. not forgetting the carrots so soft you can pinch apart with delicate chopsticks, onions so sweet and the flavourful potato mash. he can hear his stomach growling again...

pepperlunch on saturday

was about to check out the john little moving out sale when the wife complained of being hungry. that's probably the only definite binding point between them, lust for food.]

stepped into pepper lunch, they remember it for always having decent cuts, unlike the badly sawed off ones they had at swensen's for lunch few days back.

pepper steak - first time having good looking marbled stuff at pepper lunch, salivating already...

big ribeye - wife always has the better deal, on hindsight, it was just $1.10 more than the pepper steak and it was larger quite a bit...

cooked big ribeye - caught her in the action of flipping the steak over

yummy stuff pepper lunch has. but the bill came up to around $35... bleeding somewhere already...
