08 Oct 2011 - Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao

Visited the cramped Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Suntec City again, can't remember the last time they were there.

Sick of beef noodles, she opted for mince sauce noodles, $7.50++. This was a little too sweet for his liking, but she thought it was good. Quite a generous serving of noodles, and when the waitress asked if they would like to have the noodles "cut", they said yes. Understood that this had to be done to easily share the noodle portion, after the previous visit to The Eastern Restaurant.

The shared portion looking a little like spaghetti huh...

Couldn't say no to dimsum, and they got "hong you chao shou" (dumplings in spicy sauce) and "xiao long bao" (steamed pork dumpings). $6.50++ for about 8 pieces of "chao shou" and $5++ for 5 pieces of "xiao long bao". Didn't taste as strong as those he had in recent, which could probably mean that these were healthier alternatives. Just guessing.

He had wanted to get drunken chicken, but she vetoed and pushed for something new. And they settled for chicken in Sichuan spicy sauce, $7++. Got allocated the wing portion, most of the meat came from the drumlet, which was a little dry.

01 Jan 2011 - Crystal Jade (La Mian Xiao Long Bao)

They had wanted to visit the fountain of wealth before catching a movie back in the neighbourhood. However, it seemed that visiting hours were already over by the time they got there. Had a bit of time to spare and she suggested that they grab some food, checking in at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao.

He ordered beef brisket noodles. Noodles were springy and soup was savoury but not overtly salty. However, the amount of meat seemed to be lacking, and he told himself that he should return to Lai Lai Family Restaurant soon for a good bowl of beef noodles.

Her bowl of top grade beef noodles, with seafood, dumplings, egg and some other accompaniments. The variety probably made up for the few thin slices of beef.

Also placed an order for soup dumplings (xiao long bao). Quite good, the burst of soup with the first bite is always gratifying.
